How To Wear A Self-Tie Top 3 Ways

A relaxed self tie top such as this is quite fun and easy to wear so many different ways. For the working women out there, you can wear it with blazer and a form fitting pants. Another good option is to wear it with straight cut trousers or a pencil skirt. If you’re not into bright colors but would still like to try them for a change, a good way to toughen up a bright top is by pairing them with black pieces. Here I toughened up my bright colored top with black blazer, pants and basic pumps. For a daytime feel you can wear it with shorts too!

This top is super wearable during spring or summer time as well. To achieve this look, I paired it with white trousers and a gold weaved belt. Then I finalized it with a platform open toe heels. If you have wedges, and other light colored bottoms that would totally work as too!

If you’re having a girl’s night out or a hot date, you can wear this top with a cute metallic skirt and sexy strappy heels. To add spice to the outfit, tie your hair up in a half pony or let your hair down and curl your locks for a more sultry look. Most importantly, smile, be confident and always have fun!

Throwback Thursday

Hello everyone! As promised, I'm posting another set of photos from our Santa Barbara weekend. I was a little scared of posting these photos at first because as you can see I'm in a super skimpy outfit, bikini to be exact (well at least a conservative one) and so my mind justified. But REALLY it's because of fear of being scrutinized and feeling so exposed

I'm really a private person and a total homebody (such a Cancerian) and sometimes I have the tendency to hide under my thick shell and be my own worse critic. However, I noticed that the older I get, the less I care about what other people think. To add to that, I learned that you have to love yourself and be willing to be open and let people in your life in order to improve yourself, your personality and your life altogether. You have to get over your fears and face them head on so you can be the person that you were meant to be. Very liberating so to speak.

It's true, you cannot let your fears get in the way of your desires, dreams, and all the other things you'd like to do in your lifetime. Because if you do, you will find yourself stuck in a rut and life is WAY too short for that! LIFE IS A GIFT and while we are here, we all are meant to be great. It doesn't matter who or where you are, rich or poor, old or young, black or white, normal or not. If you can breath, you exist and therefore you can make a difference and be whoever you want to be.

So with the help of this blog post, along with the awareness of possible criticisms spoken or not, I'd like to conquer one of my fears and just BE.

Woaw! It feels great just writing that! I feel better already =)

3 Ways To Wear A Polka Dot Top

For the city or the working girl, you can wear this cute blouse with a polka dot skirt. The trick to wearing print on print is to make sure that the print on one piece is smaller than the print on your other. It’s also a good trick keep the two pieces within the same color range. In this case, both pieces are black and white and the pattern on my top is smaller the pattern on my skirt. To add a pop of color, I accessorized with a skinny orange belt then finished it off with basic pumps.

If you like vintage or era themed outfits, this top looks great with a skirt and a pair of oxford shoes. To complement, the shoes I added a cardigan. Then I added a red bow tie and used it as a hair accessory to make it more feminine. This outfit is so cute yet comfortable enough to run around and do your errands in.

For the high school or college student, you can wear your top with a pair of colored pants and some comfy heels. Here I used red pants and matched it with snakeskin pumps. Then I accessorized with a brown belt to make it more casual. If you like a more comfortable option, use flats or sandals. Finally, add a cute tote or messenger bag and off to school you go.

Throwback Tuesday

Just a little disclaimer in case you noticed that my hair has grown at an alarmingly fast rate compared to my previous birthday blurb post. These photos were shot back in May 2012 thus, the title "Throwback Tuesday".

On a random note, I learned of the term "throwback" on Instagram where people would post younger/older photos of themselves on Thursdays and add hashtags that state #throwbackthursdays. Sprinkle a dose of common sense and the definition was obvious.

Anyway, these photos were taken in Santa Barbara, CA where my hubby and I spent our initial wedding anniversary celebration. Initial being the date when we went to the courthouse to get our marriage license and got married in front of a weird judge who couldn't even say our names right. Pretty funny stuff! Just the way we like it.

We went to a mission and discovered the annoying effects of marine layer the whole time we were there. Since we were so close to the beach on a supposedly warm weekend, you would think that the place would display a sunglass worthy day under the sun right? But no, we were dead wrong. Still, I insisted on wearing my sunglasses anyway. Those harmful rays still peek through the thickest of clouds. Protection (though widely mistaken as vanity) is key.

Despite a bumpy start, the weekend was super nice, romantic and full of mouth watering festive food. An overall score of 4 out of 5 stars if I were to rate it on Yelp. 4 just because A.)I think the hotel that we stayed in was over priced and B.) because the stupid marine layer stole vital hours of tanning session from my weekend. I'm kidding. I don't need a tan as you can see, but I do need my sun. I love my sun!

Birthday Blurb

Another year has gone by and I'm really having a hard time accepting that I'm already *DEEP BREATH*..._____
oh gosh, I can't even say it so I'll just keep it a secret.

Since this is a birthday post, I really don't want to talk about my outfit although I just need to mention that my hubby thinks that the sleeves to this dress make me look like I'm about to celebrate my quinceanera [*shrugs* men and fashion] I WISH it was just my quinceanera but I'm WAY over that AND I happen to just love this dress so I wore it for my little birthday brunch today.

As I look back to all the years I've spent on this earth, I remember all the highlights. I remember moving to another country and all the jobs that I took, switching careers(thank goodness),meeting my handsome hubby and getting married *sigh* (love love love) I remember talking to a dead person on one of my jobs (because I didn't know he was goners), I remember being on Wipe Out (yes I as in that tv show where you get to go on an obstacle course and eat mud), I remember my most vulnerable moments and I remember my little fashion and life victories along the way.

I realize that I've been through so much and I have been so damn LUCKY. Lucky to have the most loving husband, parents, in laws, family and friends. People that lift me up higher and support me all the way. I'm proud to say that I have no regrets and I truly am HAPPY! I'm so grateful for everyone and everything in my life and if you're reading this blurb, then you my friend are one of the reasons why I'm so lucky.

To all my friends, family, parents and hubby THANK YOU FOR BEING IN MY LIFE.
I LOVE YOU ALL SO DAMN MUCH <3
