How To Wear A Hi-Lo Polka Dot Skirt 3 Ways

Hello my lovely readers! Here's another "How To" video for you.
In this video I will show you 3 ways to wear a must have piece for this season, the Hi-Low polka dot skirt. Enjoy!

For the city or working girl, you can wear this polka dotskirt with a cute blouse or a basic top. Here I’m wearing a sleeveless top witha polka dot pattern as well. The trick to wearing print on print is to makesure that the print on one piece is smaller than the print on your other. It’salso good to keep the two pieces within the same color range. In this case, both pieces are black and white and the pattern on my top is smaller thepattern on my skirt. To add a pop of color, I accessorized a skinny orange beltthen finished it off with basic black pumps.

For a more comfortable but girly look, I paired my polka dotskirt with a colored sweater, here I’m using a red sweater and tied a knot onthe side to define my waistline. What I really like about this skirt is that itcan also be worn as a low, high or a normal waisted skirt. In this look, Iplaced it right underneath the sweater to avoid showing skin. Feel free to useother colored tops such as pink, yellow, blue, or even neon colors too! Sincethis is a comfortable look, I opted to wear my favorite converse sneakers, tiedmy hair up in a bun and used a leather bow tie as a hair accessory. I wouldsuggest this outfit for school, stroll at the park or when hanging out in themall.

For the fashionista look, I paired my polka dot skirt with adenim button up long sleeves shirt. Here I only used the first 3 buttons andtied a knot and placed my skirt just underneath the knot. I also rolled thesleeves up for a more casual feel. Then finally to add a wow factor, I styledthe outfit with a pair of fun glitter platform boots in pink.

It's going to be a video week pretty much this week so please do keep checking in with me for more!

Pretty Pastels & Florals

It's FRIDAYYYYY once more! Hope you guys had a great week. It's been a busy week for me and I'm so glad the weekend is finally here. I did a lot of shopping, shooting and editing for my store this week. It's always exciting cause that means I'll be having more FUN and new items coming up. Super cute necklaces, bracelets and bags that I'm obsessed with! **ahhh so cute!** I've been getting a lot of great feedback about our newest picks and I'm pretty sure you guys will love them too!

Aside from adding more fabulousness to my store, I've also been more active in going to the gym lately. I actually surprised myself because I don't like running at all but for some reason I've been able to run on the treadmill for at least 2-5 mins. straight at a 5.5-6.5 speed. I know it may not be that impressive especially for the more physically fit people out there but that's already a record for myself ayhihee!

Enough about working out, let's talk about this outfit. I'm really loving the fact that summer time = color time! Although I'm a stick to black and neutral colors kind of a girl, I'm still always down for some fun colors. I mean, don't you just love how colors instantly change your mood?

I really wanted to style this ahhhmazzingly cute  floral pattern boston style bag so I decided to build on it. When I style an item as colorful as this I would usually just pick one color from the item and match it with either a top or a bottom and keep the rest of the outfit neutral. However, in this outfit I decided to go all out, play with colors and do a pastel color blocking.

The mint green sweater is my biggest obsession at the moment so I'll go ahead and give you a heads up cause I'll probably be wearing this sweater multiple times from this point on =P

I luv luv luv the sorbet colored button down shirt I have underneath the sweater (also my current obsession by the way!) It's the same top I wore on this post. Since this shirt is made of lite sheer chiffon material, it totally works if you still want to rock a "layered" look even during the warmer seasons.

One of the key things to making an outfit work is knowing when to STOP. Sometimes people have a tendency to do way too much and it kills the outfit. I have to admit I'm guilty of this too at times so I force myself to stop.
"Hold it... that's it.. we're good.. I can stop."
The stop sign in this outfit? The neutral colored shoes =)

Awww I love this photo of me and my adorable nephew.
He wants to be in the picture too!!

Special thanks to my photographer and his assistant for this shoot! My dad and my nephew! Aren't they precious? =)
